Floating head heat exchanger
The tube sheets at both ends of the floating head heat exchanger are not connected to the shell at one end, and this end is called the floating head. When the tube is heated, the tube bundle together with the floating head can freely expand and contract along the axial direction, completely eliminating the temperature difference stress.

1. Overview
The tube sheet at one end of the floating head heat exchanger is fixed to the shell, while the tube sheet at the other end can float freely in the shell. The shell and the tube bundle are free to expand. Therefore, when the temperature difference between the two media is large, no temperature difference stress is generated between the tube bundle and the shell. The floating head end is designed as a detachable structure so that the tube bundle can be easily inserted or pulled out of the shell.

3. Advantages and Disadvantages
3.1. Advantages
(1) The tube bundle can be pulled out to facilitate cleaning of the tube and shell side;
(2) The temperature difference between the media is not restricted;
(3) It can work under high temperature and high pressure, generally the temperature is less than or equal to 450 degrees and the pressure is less than or equal to 6.4 MPa;
(4) It can be used in places where scaling is relatively serious;
(5) It can be used in places where the tube side is prone to corrosion. [1]
3.2. Disadvantages
(1) Small floating heads are prone to internal leakage;
(2) Large consumption of metal materials, 20% higher cost;
(3) Complex structure
