The expansion tank is a pressure buffering device used in water systems (such as heating and water supply systems). Its main functions are as follows:

1. Function:
Absorb the expansion of water volume caused by temperature changes, prevent the system pressure from being too high
Maintain the stability of system pressure, reduce the frequent start-stop of the water pump
Reduce the impact of water hammer on the pipeline

2. Common applications:
Domestic/Commercial Heating System
Solar Hot Water System
Central Air Conditioning Circulation System
Water Supply Boosting System for Tap Water

3. Notes:
Before installation, it is necessary to pre-fill the system with gas (usually nitrogen) at the static pressure.
It should be installed vertically in the return water pipeline, with the lower part of the tank connected to the water pipe.
Regularly check the integrity of the air bag/membrane (every 2 years).
When the system pressure is abnormal, first check the status of the expansion tank.
Different types of systems (open/closed) have different requirements for the selection of the expansion tank. The capacity needs to be determined based on the system's water volume and temperature rise. If there are situations such as severe fluctuations in the pressure gauge pointer or frequent pressure relief from the safety valve, it may indicate a fault in the expansion tank.
